Since a lot of people have joined Bluesky recently, I should show the art I make in my free time.

I also spend a lot of time fiddling with computer systems and sometimes a bit of game dev

@stardustneon.bsky.social RAD seems to be "popular" for some reason right now, my YT recommendations have a bunch of videos memeing on Nanao like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfXLOaY5jCg
Also people sell copies of it for like $150+ these days lol

Both enjoyed and was angered by this If Books Could Kill ep skewering Sapiens.
Like the author really needed to talk to modern anthropologists and historians rather than going off of whatever narrative he picked up from old high school textbooks buff.ly/yAzkGbF

Backing up my laptop to change OS, and found these tests I did to see what has the biggest impact on satellite call quality. Not super empirical, but it was least thorough.
The margins were pretty thin for how badly you could set it up before it didn't work

Invincible is a much better show than I thought it would be.
It could've just been a gritty super-hero + semi-parody thing, but it also has genuine story telling.
Definitely a lot of anime influences in it as well (mainly the fight scenes)

People keep asking me to disable MAC randomisation, as if it solves all wifi issues.
MAC shouldn't be part of the auth process as you can get it by seeing the device on an open wifi, then fake it! You can also bruteforce using the bluetooth MAC, as there's only 65,535 possibilities!

Very funny that I go to read an article about internet outages, and the site is down.

I feel like there's been so many outages this year that no one cares about trying to get high uptime stats now

Building an Ikea chest of drawers and these screws remain my least favourite part. They are so fiddly and and never go in straight enough.
And I need to make 8 of them line up!

Yesterday I just kept sneezing in my study. Really hope that it was just an allergic reaction to a pollen, not something else, because I've never had it happen that much.
This was even after taking anti-histamines, which I thought I already did in the morning!

grokipedia definitely exists for propaganda purposes, but it's also a cost saving measure if you can just make an LLM point to an existing resource rather than generate a whole essay

Failed kickstarter campaign for a splitting controller named Grifta. You can't make this shit up
Grifta - Morphing Gamepad
A flat gamepad can't compete. This controller is designed to provide performance and speed. You can even use it with your gaming mouse.

Yesterday I used chatgpt logged out for a few questions and it was weirdly aggressive sounding, also the formatting still leans really hard into emojis for like no reason

This collection of video game press assets is really cool. First two images are from Brave Fencer Musashi. Now I just need to work out how to mount the CDs to get the actual assets buff.ly/fPQAplu

Saw some terracotta soldiers in front of Council House today.

Thought they might've been made by the guy who does other red statues, but they're silk lanterns by the Beijing Chaoyang International Cultural Exchange Association visit.museum.wa.gov.au/boolabardip/...

Once Upon a Katamari is fun, but holy shit is the game relentlessly railroading you through text boxes, cutscenes, and tutorials.
It's a Katamari game, let me roll the ball around, choose stages as I wish, then give me instructions on new game modes and challenges!

Finally got around to raising a noise complaint again.
Really shouldn't have put it off, but worrying that nothing will change takes over, so I avoided it.

While walking home yesterday I saw something shining in a neighbours window, I realised it was party decorations, as there was another part that said "girls just want to have fun".
I hope it's for a party they already had and not an upcoming one, but I guess we'll see

Some people are saying they've been hit by the Twitter ban wave and they weren't using any addons, so I think they've been kind of overzealous

Kind of crazy that a platform full LLM generated replies will ban regular users for "inauthentic behaviour"

The other weekend I went to Midland Records to finally pick up my copy of Jamie Page's Constant Companions.

They had a larger range than I expected, with a fair few anime and game OSTs. There was even a Cassette Beasts record there!
Bit outside my price range for regular purchases though.

Habits I'm working on to save time:
- Leave tidying up as a before bed task. It gets me off my PC earlier and gives me more focus for day tasks
- Schedule my washing machine to end a little after I wake up. Then I don't miss out on sunlight + I have another reason to get out of bed in the morning
