Graham Greene helped make the rest of the world see Indigenous people as real human beings. The first time I saw him on screen was in Dances With Wolves and the last time was in The Last of Us. What a tremendous legacy! RIP ✊🏽🙌🏽❤️

EVERYONE IS ROOTING FOR THIS MAN TO UNSEAT SUSAN COLLINS.

If AOC's star power helps propel Mamdani to mayor in NYC, and Bernie's star power helps Graham Platner unseat Susan Collins, while small moves, they would be nice steps toward a more progressive future.

It does my little socialist heart good thinking about them boosting other progressives.

I’ve had an ongoing conversation with @paulandstorm.bsky.social (among others) about how hard it is to write a song that has to be a hit “in-universe.” That is, it has to be so good the characters/listeners react in the way the story needs them to.

K-pop Demon Hunters does it 8 times.

R.I.P Nelvana Ltd, a genuinely tremendous force in the animation industry, for both Canada and even the US, ESPECIALLY on the television animation side of things.

Shouting out 1996’s Stickin’ Around as an example of their work, had to have been a nightmare to make this style work this well.

Nelvana was a Canadian INSTITUTION. WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S GONE?!?
Nelvana has worked on so, so, so much over the years, from the animated segment in the Star Wars Holiday Special to shows like Babar, Beetlejuice, Donkey Kong Country, Franklin, Rolie Polie Olie, Pelswick, Clone High, 6teen, Backyardigans, Thomas All Engines Go, Barney's World...

I love the idea of a Wonder Woman cartoon that kind of functions like Brave and the Bold, using less popular/underutilized female superheroes.

Ideally I'd want to find a way to even have her team up with Fantomah, Sheena Queen of the Jungle, or Nelvana of the Northern Lights.

Nelvana worked on a lot of shows that I liked, but there were two that were my favorite

So to properly say goodbye to Nelvana, I present the intros to those two shows

So far, Nelvana was also responsible for their obscure 2005 animated adaptation of the Heidi film, alongside Telemagination and TV-Loonland.

Overall, Nelvana was best known for making Max and Ruby, Franklin, Pippi Longstocking, Babar and more.

Seeing Nelvana falling apart is an end of an era...

what the FUCK man pour one out for Nelvana. Not only did they make one of my favorite movies ever(Rock & Rule) but they had their hands on SO MANY CARTOONS. If you ever watched a cartoon as a kid there's a chance they were involved, including the Donkey Kong Country and Sam & Max cartoon adaptations

In addition to being immortalized, Nelvana will live in Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars. Anakin's final trial involves him rescuing the Nelvaan Warriors. They're named after Nelvana, who animated the Boba Fett segment in the Holiday Special.

Rest easy.

Would you believe me if I said that when animators were hard at work on Gerald Potterton’s Heavy Metal and Ralph Bakshi’s American Pop a little animation studio called Nelvana began chipping away at a now all but forgotten supernatural sci fi rock opera called ROCK & RULE? 🎥

My first pitch ever was to Nelvana when I was 22 years old. I pitched them a cartoon called Mudboy. I had a full-blown panic attack in the car on the way back to my apartment afterward.

Such a great studio.

I’m actually tearing up right now.

The greatest Canadian animated studio, Nelvana, just closed its doors.

It’s really heartbreaking seeing as it produced so many shows from my childhood…….
