We've been saving this little pup for when we thought you all might really need a gold star. And, given the current circumstances, here she is. 13/10

In advance of the Oscars tonight: a lot of comedy heroes let you down. They become unfunny/bitter/closed minded. Conan is the exception. He has grown & evolved & is funnier than he’s ever been. He’s also an extremely kind and lovely human. Just a sincere post to say: Conan rules.

Thread for the educators like me who just arrived here. I missed the early Twitter wave, but with all X’s problems, many educators, researchers, and academics are flocking to Bluesky. Here’s what I’ve learned so far 🧵1/8

Started Next Baking Master, Paris on Max. Definitely feels more like stressful, cutthroat American baking shows, unlike my favorite comfort show #GBBO

Really exceptional TV!
I feel like so many people still don’t know about Slow Horses. One of my favorite shows on TV right now. Gary Oldman is perfect in this role.

Unlike the other place, here it's important not just to share your own work, but other people's stuff too. If you see something and like it --- share it, comment on it, engage with it. Love things openly! Repost freely! We're each responsible for making this place what we want it to be.
The thing about the chronological timeline is that if you have something you want to share, you have to share it a lot. And if you see something you think others should see, you have to hit repost (likes are not public).

one of the reasons bluesky works differently is because early users waged a successful fight to get the devs to prioritize safety features to protect communities at risk

as a result bluesky now has a suite of controls that i think are unmatched on social media

here’s the list, lmk what i’ve missed

Trying to decide between Bluesky or Threads after deleting Twitter. Is one better than the other? Or should I just have both?

tell me about a book u love
share it here
Y'all, discoverability is harder than ever. With Twitter all but gone and publishing being --in a mood-- your favorite authors are floundering. We don't know how to reach our fans or find new readers. Telling someone about a book you love is a really big deal. That's the #1 reason people buy books!
