Former Washington Post journalists have launched a GoFundMe to help repatriate fired staff members who are effectively stranded in foreign countries.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

I was lucky enough to be the last person to interview Dame Jilly Cooper for the Queens Reading Room last year. In honour of her memorial yesterday they have released the footage. It's as silly and funny and interesting as she always was. I hope you enjoy www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7qV...

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

The UK was better off in the EU and Europe was better off with the UK in it.

All of this Trump driven chaos underlines that and you can practically hear Putin rubbing his hands in Moscow.

WE have deliberately weakened ourselves, our security and our region for absolutely no good purpose at all.

Hello! I'm on Desert Island Discs on BBC Radio 4 tomorrow. It was an absolute honour and still feels like the biggest thing to happen to me in my career. Also: I cannot remember a single thing I said during the entire interview. If you listen in, I hope you enjoy it x

Not the first to make this point. But there is a tyrant in charge of another country who is accused of being heavily linked to a paedophile sex ring - and supposed ‘patriots’ in this country are passionately willing him to take down our national broadcaster. Madness.

Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.

Ended up at a hospital A&E early this morning. In the next cubicle a team of medical professionals were trying to save a baby, brought in by ambulance and police. Of the maybe ten people I saw, only two were white British. It made me think: if Farage gets his way, what is going to happen to our NHS?

When asked about Epstein by the Financial Times in February, Mandelson said: "It’s an FT obsession and frankly you can all fuck off. OK?”
