Hands up all those who think one of the reasons Labor aren’t interested in changes to taxes as they apply to housing is that many of their MPs will be personally disadvantaged.

The Govt has published the sales of petrol for the first half of the year and there are some startling results…
. Overall, petrol sales down over 3%
. Distinct shift to higher quality fuel (to 98+ octane)
. Sales of ethanol blends dropped dramatically - over 11%

Of course it’s raining in Adelaide - the Royal Adelaide Show starts on Saturday. Given that it’s such a rain magnet, why don’t they move it to the summer when we need the rain?

The rest of the world seems to be entering a new phase of engagement with the US.

1. Take account of how far people drive, and
2. Apply to all road users, including EVs, PHEVs, HEVs and ICEs. And mining and farm vehicles driven on roads.
