I have an exceptional LLM graduate (top of her class), who is seeking an SJD/PhD program for the coming school year. Alternatively a research position or other legal work. If you know of any opportunities, please let me know. I can provide additional details.

Chief Justice Roberts has lamented the Lochner era over the years. It appears he lamented they did not go far enough. Hopefully history will be equally unkind to the Roberts’ court.

I hate the Islamic Republic, it is monstrous. We fled the regime when I was 4.5 years old. But I also experienced the bombings during the Iran Iraq war, witnessed buildings leveled. No child should ever know that anywhere on earth. This will not advance a free, secular Iran. Woman, Life, Freedom.

Chief Justice, John Roberts once said: "You go to a case like the Lochner case, you can read that opinion today and it's quite clear that they're not interpreting the law, they're making the law." Perhaps he ought to revisit his own words. #SCOTUS

“Although we may never know with complete certainty the identity of the winner of this year's Presidential election, the identity of the loser is perfectly clear. It is the Nation's confidence in the judge as an impartial guardian of the rule of law.” - Justice Stevens #SCOTUS

During law school, a student had a schizophrenic break and several committed suicide. More suffered significant mental health challenges. More than a decade later, a student in my first class took his own life. We have to do better. I became a law professor to do better. The law must do better.

A priority is to send a message to an already marginalized group that they will not be recognized or valued? The very issue that leads to outsized bullying, assault, suicide, substance misuse, self harm, alienation, and discrimination? I am glad we are coming together as a nation.

Dickens, “the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys."

In 1977 the NY Supreme Court held that Renee Richards could compete in the US Open as a woman stating, “the unfounded fears and misconceptions of defendants must give way to the overwhelming medical evidence that this person is now female.” More than 45 years later people still don’t get it.
