The Venezuela incursion is in line with this logic, made even plainer as the US eyes Greenland

Trump’s conduct & government is disgusting, & the daily, outrageous, brute abuses of power are frankly exhausting. In terms of his most recent threats against the peace, I’m roused this week to fury over the events in Venezuela & the “inconceivable” threat of military operations in Danish territory.

Tinnitus is absurd. When you're stressed, it gets worse. So then you get stressed. I'm turning the TV up so I can hear what Max Mayfield is saying over the sound of my own Eustachian tube auditioning horrendously for the high C in Allegri’s Miserere.

I think tinnitus should be straight up banishèd.

Been working on the design side of my wife’s children’s book all day. I’m sweating, my PC’s sweating — Inkscape, GNU Image Manipulation, Canva, everything firing at once — and honestly… I love it

Dear friends, I wish you blessings of the season. K

Christmas Eve

A whirling galaxy of starlings
at sunset on Christmas Eve.

Star – lings (a bright and shining name for such a dark and dusky bird)

A murmurration of stars
sweeping the darkling night,
making a moving path
for the Milky Way

You get the feeling that no ray of light has touched these walls in ages. Few have even ventured down here since the Curse was laid upon the castle those many years ago. A decrepit stair leads upward, and there's an opening to the north.

For some people, Christmas can be a difficult time.

Many churches hold 'Blue Christmas' services, offering quieter, more reflective times of worship.

Find one at a local church by visiting AChurchNearYou.com/christmas and selecting the 'Blue Christmas' tag.

Fallen in love with #Yunnan #tea. Originally discovered it seeking a tea low in tannins, as I suffer from #IBS. Little did I know I would stumble upon a beautiful ancient origin tea leaf which, smuggled to India by the British East India Company, became forebear to much of what we know as tea since.

Rescuing a wonderful Alan Stones print from mould. It was used as a cover image on one edition of Martin Farrell, one of my mother Janni's wonderful novels.

It begins as grim as it means to go on: "This man, he had no sort of name to waste breath on, he filled his mouth with drink..."
