The protests aren’t stopping anytime soon in AZ. Thousands of protesters in Tempe right now for an anti-ICE protest.

since i'm apparently already feeling angry and vindictive today it feels like a good time to ask where the "don't call Trump fascist" debate has landed, you know, post-secret police

If you want to show solidarity with Los Angeles, the best thing to do is organize protests against ICE tonight/tomorrow in your own cities.

Search the web for ICE rapid response networks in your own city / state and sign up. Help your neighbors.

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

This may be the biggest free speech crisis in living memory. The president now bragging about detaining a lawful permanent resident and smearing him as 'pro Hamas', no outlining any specific crimes he is accused of or charged with. This is what a fascist takeover looks like.
Trump takes credit for Mahmoud Khalil's arrest by ICE:

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Devastating for scientists and their research, and everyone who benefits from that research.

I’m not sure if everyone outside academia is aware that a delay or “pause” in grant funding often means the researchers themselves are lost from the field, along with their expertise.
NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research.

Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions
All NIH study sections canceled indefinitely. This will halt science and devastate research budgets in universities.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

Israel bans the importation into Gaza of anaesthetics. Hence, the scores of children who are amputated daily, following Israel's bombings, are put to the knife without anaesthesia - if they are lucky to be taken to a functioning medical facility and not be bombed when in it.

People who say they care about women’s and girls’ sports are noticeably quiet about how eliminating the Department of Education would end federal oversight of Title IX enforcement of the equal existence of women’s and girls’ sports

I’m one of the few Dems in NYC who even RUNS a general election campaign, and the only one who ran a robust field op. We ran ahead of top of the ticket.

Excellence matters. A lot of folks w/ poor campaign fundamentals are now blaming “wokism” but haven’t held a town hall or knocked a door all cycle
