I had the huge pleasure to speak with the cast of "Shoresy" recently to talk about hockey, their own histories in hockey, getting back into arenas with the Shoresy Classic and what the beauty of being beauties on one of the best shows on TV is like

Got some “Frank Drebin in front of the exploding fireworks factory” vibes here

In my many years of covering the Sabres, this particular conglomeration of bad fortune and maligned health really is unprecedented.

Carson Meyer, whom the Sabres signed in the offseason but has been hurt since right before training camp, is on waivers which means he’s finally healthy. The Amerks could use the reinforcements given how so many guys are in Buffalo right now.

Lindy Ruff said Jiri Kulich will miss a significant amount of time because he’s dealing with a blood clot. As to whether he can return this season, Ruff wants to say yes but it depends on how things go the next three or four weeks.

We're a month into the NHL season, and even though it's still early, the race for teams to make sure they're not preemptively out of the playoff race is well underway. And the best way to do that is t...

A hat trick for Hilary Knight as she pots one into the empty net with 1:27 to go to make it 6-1. Pretty cool to see that let's be real
November 9, 2025 at 1:31 AM
USA goalie Gwyneth Philips has played very well tonight. She had to be strong early on in the game and now just playing it cool as time ticks away in the third - she's up to 28 saves

Quite uncommon to see Canada make these kinds of mistakes ever and, yes, there's nothing on the line in these games, but still

Hayley Scamurra buries one after a turnover to Taylor Heise. Heise fakes the slapper, drops it to Scamurra and a lot of room to pick a shot. 5-1 USA

A Marie-Philip Poulin boarding penalty instantly turns into a Hilary Knight PPG at the far post for a tap-in to make it 4-1 USA

Laila Edwards with a ripper to the top corner to give the US a 3-1 lead in the third period. Wicked shot there from the defender

In the Sabres game...

That pass by Noah Östlund to Power was the good stuff

Was starting to wonder if there was something about the air in KeyBank Center watching the USA power play get set up and noodle the puck around without shooting when they had a look.

Then a shot came in and Hilary Knight cleaned up the rebound for a goal and erased my theory

Canada and USA women hit the ice for warmups in Buffalo for the Rivalry Series’ second game
November 8, 2025 at 10:29 PM
Very hyped to check out the Rivalry Series tonight in Buffalo. The best US and Canada women’s hockey you’ll see ahead of the Olympics. It’s gonna be awesome.

I’ve never crossed the crows in my neighborhood ever but I must’ve done something for a murder to use my car as their target practice. Dear god.

Sabres have recalled Zac Jones from Rochester. With Dahlin on leave, they needed another defenseman
November 7, 2025 at 8:31 PM
As for other Sabres tidbits:

Maintenance day for Kesselring so he should be ok tomorrow. Zucker still not feeling well and may not even go on the trip to Utah/Colorado/Detroit. Kulich still not up to par yet either.

Zach Benson skated this morning, just in regular clothes, but that’s progress.

Lindy Ruff tells us Rasmus Dahlin will be taking a leave of absence to go back to Sweden to attend to a personal matter. Things are OK, but it was important to allow him to go.
November 7, 2025 at 6:16 PM
What should be a brief Sabres practice is rolling. Michael Kesselring absent today. Alex Lyon has his own net today.

Sabres play Carolina tomorrow night in Raleigh

Still thinking about my friend, the bat
November 7, 2025 at 5:10 AM
There is a bat flying around the ice surface here at KBC and it has everyone's attention from the arena cleanup crew to the ice crew to us upstairs and it is a big fella
