It’s very useful when somebody follows you here, you check the list of people they follow to make sure they’re sound, and you find Twitter mutuals you hadn’t realised had migrated

To expand for those who may be unaware, many of the very worst aspects of US culture: mass incarceration, religious fundamentalism in government, a bipartisan, neoliberal shift (including a mutual, steadfast stance against universal healthcare) kicked into overdrive under Reagan
people on CNN right now keep saying "this is NOT the party of Ronald Reagan" as if being "the party of Ronald Reagan" is good, or as if this is not the logical continuation of everything Ronald Reagan stood for

The search function on this site definitely needs work. You can type a mutual's username and their account doesn't come up. You need to go by handle and, even then, be pretty exact. It's not intuitive

Possibly the funniest aspect of this entire debacle is finding out this isn't even a new Musk idea. He wanted to do this 'everything app' thing with Paypal (even wanting to change the name to X, which market researchers told him was terrible) and it got him ousted from the company
I’m so sorry, but the tech industry is like the major league of delusions of grandeur. Imagine looking at your site’s tanking valuation, collapsing user base, loss of adverting dollars, and being like “this is the future 🥲🥺”.
