PSA: As a Neurodivergent person, and someone studying and presenting on neurodivergence in an effort to help more ND people, I feel it’s important to gently point something out.

Fascism is *not* a symptom of autism or any other neurological, neurodevelopmental, or neuropsychological condition.

i know despair is letting them win or whatever but sometimes you need to process feelings to move past them. it's ok if you're despairing right now. but please don't make any permanent decisions right now. we are all facing a survival situation now and surviving today is defeating them

Gender-affirming care is a long-established medical specialty with best practices outlined in the WPATH Standards of Care. No transgender, nonbinary, or gender-expansive child simply decides one day to request puberty blockers, hormones, or surgery; nor do they instantly receive any of the above. Any decision to medicate a child to either delay puberty or counteract effects of unwanted development is a careful, thought-out process involving qualified medical professionals whose job is not only to assess how best to treat the patient but to determine if any treatment would in fact be appropriate. To restrict even puberty blockers—drugs used freely on cisgender children experiencing precocious puberty—denies transgender children any attempt to avoid unwanted development, including delaying puberty so the child can take the time to be fully confident in the path that is best for them. I unequivocally oppose any measures that would prevent doctors from working with minor transgender patients and their caretakers to provide children with the best medically appropriate care possible. These are hyperpartisan endeavors designed to inflict maximum harm on an already vulnerable population: children who despite the horrors of a transphobic world are determined to be themselves. Please oppose this bill and any future variants. Our children deserve to have their health concerns treated by doctors, not by legislators playing God.

For historians/ppl who know history: did the German public who were complicit with the rise of nazism ever realize they were the bad guys? After the end of the war, did the public by & large understand they were wrong? Or were they just upset they lost? I know you can’t generalize to everyone but…
