Just realized how many of my favorite books have plurals in the title.
The Decameron
The Metamorphoses
The Book of The Thousand Nights and a Night
The Canterbury Tales
Dubliners
The Rubáiyát
Letters from the Earth
Seveneves
. . .

Weird.

Extravagant use of bollards indicates a serious parking incident in the recent past. (Lexington KY.)

[Once crowded into a booth here with 4 other groomsmen and the bridegroom, all drunk & high. Having eaten our fill, I proclaimed, "And now. . . we order AGAIN!" We did. Luckily, had a limo driver.]

I can't seem to learn which _Ulysses_ text is used in the three(?) audiobooks available. 1922? 1934? 1961? Ellman?
I prefer the 1961, but don't know how to tell.
Any help?

I can't lie, this is so soothing right now
Asteroid's chances of hitting Earth have nearly doubled in a week, ESA scientist warns
An steroid up to 300ft wide now has a 2.2% chance of colliding into Earth. It could prompt a space mission to intercept it.

Worth stepping outside to see Venus cavorting with the moon tonight! (Sorry for bad iPhone pic.)

Most novels are about something, but some novels are about _everything._
Novels about everything:
- Tristram Shandy
- The Manuscript found in Saragossa
- Moby Dick
- Ulysses
And now, I realize, so is Huckleberry Finn.
Everything. Everything that matters.
Next up: _James_ by Percival Everett!

Vanilla wafer, cream cheese, blueberries. A good combo.

Keogh snoozing, warmed by the gas fire, dreaming perhaps of long slain mice, or maybe mice to come!

Dreamt friends Ephrem, Angela, and I ran errands and passed a men's clothing store: "Brad's Trousers." Lol
We began (in my dream) using it as an indeterminant noun:
"Have you seen Brad's trousers?"
"Hand me Brad's trousers."
"That looks just like Brad's trousers."
"I think I smell Brad's trousers."

Miruku loving the smell of a stinkbug (who's perched on the edge of one of my studio's softlights). It wintered with us a few years ago and no cat molested it, though everyone got a chance to dig its cilantro-like aroma.

Nothing to do about the fires, thousands of miles from my erstwhile home.
Nothing but donate to Pasadena Humane, call and text to check on friends, eat a can of smoked oysters, and let Eliott Gould read me "Red Wind."

Keogh (little spoon), Miruku (big spoon). She protected us all, but him, most of all. <3

Cats love boxes, or, in this case a rattan table balanced upside-down on a rolled up yoga mat. Keogh classes up the joint.

You know how Niander Wallace in _Blade Runner 2049_ has those floating pebbles that furnish his brain with information? My cat Keogh has those in the form of whiskers. They trace the contours of my face in the night, letting him know exactly where to plant his forehead. Forcefully. <3

Oof! Totally digging Dracula all over again!
As I was saying to Cathy, what's great about an epistolary novel is that there's no narrator who knows everything beforehand. Instead, each fragment builds up the total narrative layer by layer. So satisfying.

A favorite historical cat pic about which I know nothing. Screenshotted from the youtube video of R. Crumb and the Cheap Suit Serenaders' recording of "My Girl's Pussy," originally put on wax in 1931 and attributed to Harry Roy.
