Men and women sacrificed, fought, and died for this nation –
FOR US, our children and all to follow.

Instead of going to jail, he is ascending to the White House.
This is not OK.

Each time I have sat down to write something since the election, I am bothered by this recurring phrase that I simply cannot get out of my head.

So,I am going to just say it out loud: we are on our own.

Everything stated in this post is a provable fact.

You are entitled to your own opinion.

You are not entitled to your own facts.

Looking at YOU, 2020 election-deniers.

Always remember January 6.

Always fight for democracy, peace, and equality for all.

Always fight for civility, decency, and the rule of law.

Democracy is an ongoing process, NOT an endpoint.
What people think democracy is: Showing up once every four years to pull a lever for A Guy who occasionally solves a problem

What democracy is: Unending, thankless collective work, that can “solve” problems only so long as the underlying social consensus that led to the solution doesn’t erode
And it works, because we as a nation—as a people—are exhausted for countless reasons. The idea that we can declare the work done is really appealing if you only ever half cared about the work anyway. “Fuck you for trying to stress me out. Can’t you see I deserve peace?” At a society-wide scale.

"The Progressive Caucus should make sure that the Democratic Party holds the center of the country AND stands up against oppression and injustice." (via @sareport.bsky.social)
To lead the resistance on Capitol Hill, progressives in D.C. are turning to a Texan
Greg Casar, who represents Austin and much of San Antonio, could chair the Congressional Progressive Caucus — the first to come from a red state.
