Fascinating to hear Das klagende Lied at the Proms last night. A truly bad piece, with uncanny glimpses of what Mahler would become.

BTS of yesterday's gig at the Wigmore Hall with these fantastic musicians. It was such a pleasure working with @siglodeorovocal.bsky.social and Amy Tress on Ben Rowarth's huge new work, The Fall. I've really enjoyed helping facilitate the live electronics, a lovely bit of musical problem solving.

I'm at the Wigmore Hall today playing with @siglodeorovocal.bsky.social, so I thought I'd post the audio from my last adventure there, with the amazing EXAUDI. They sung the hell out of my icy microtonal imitative counterpoint electronic vocal stuff:

My piece Muted The Night is out today on the @londonsymphony.bsky.social’s new disc Panufnik Legacies IV! It’s utterly surreal for this piece to be alongside work by so many I composers I look up to. Please do have a listen:

My piece Muted The Night, written for the @londonsymphony.bsky.social in 2019, is on their upcoming Panufnik Legacies IV, conducted by Jack Sheen. The piece was pivotal in the development of my musical language, a moment of transition from one thing into another. Out 6 June, link in bio.

Tectonics Day 2. Very much enjoyed Baudouin Oosterlynck's set, Jennifer Torrence's performance, and the beautiful new orchestral pieces by Sylvia Lim and Eleanor Cully Boehringer.

Doors 7.30, music 8. Tickets OTD too.
Come see my gig tomorrow at Horse Hospital in London. I'll be playing some nice drone-y harmonies with Amalia Young, alongside @laraagar.bsky.social, Rosalie Warner and Laura Phillips!

Come to my gig on the 10th to see Laura Phillips perform her eccentric, beautiful, tangible work, made from physical media and detailed by personal experience. Pic is her in Rome performing a piece about the M48, whilst scooters sit idle with engines on and headlights positioned at the windows.

Tickets in bio for my Apr 10 show with Laura Phillips: a non-smoking, Sagittarius working with 16mm photochemical film processes and field recordings to explore the intersections of visual music, expanded film, and performance, engaging with obsolescence, the commons and information infrastructures.

On April 10, my friends and I will perform some noisy, beautiful sounds at the Horse Hospital! Put it in the diary; tickets will be released next week.

This will sound really nice when it's EXAUDI singing rather than me with a cold. Saturday, Wigmore Hall, 1pm. xx

Ooh I'm pressing enough buttons next weekend that I am officially counted as an 'electronic artist' alongside the maestros of EXAUDI and GBSR. Admittedly, it's mainly 'semibreve spacebar' magic, but still, cool to have my name on there. Please come see me, 1pm on Saturday.

Something different from my usual: a des Prez arrangement for guitar. This lovely recording is by Sam Cave; for the Footnotes And Tangents podcast. It's based on a piece that Hilary Mantel describes Thomas Cromwell humming in Wolf Hall, remembered from his youth in Italy. DM me for the score.

On 22nd Feb, EXAUDI will perform my piece ‘Paroles Gelées,’ based on this bizarre fragment of Rabelais, at the Wigmore Hall. I'll be warping and freezing their voices through some electronic jiggery-pokery. Also feat. faves GBSR Duo, Alex Tay, Cassie Kinoshi, and Linda Catlin Smith. Link in bio!

I have finished a piece, for Ensemble Linea! It is for flute, horn, theorbo(!), baroque violin and baroque cello. It was so much fun writing for theorbo, wow, 14 is so many strings to have.
