VENLO STEDJE VAN HAAT & RACISME Venlo, we moeten praten over wat er gebeurde tijdens Popronde... In de nacht van 1 op 2 november om ongeveer 03:15 waren wij net klaar met spelen op de Parade in Venlo (in een queer space). Eenmaal klaar met spelen, stonden we buiten frisse lucht te halen en merkten we dat er 2 jongens aan het sieg heilen waren. We probeerden ze er op aan te spreken, maar dat leidde tot escalatie. Ze slingerden T. over ons drumstel (die buiten stond). I. heeft nog netjes gepraat met een van deze jongens en probeerde te de-escaleren, maar ze belden voor versterking - Binnen no-time arriveerde deze versterking en begon ons aan te vallen, en ons uit te schelden voor 'kanker homo's' I. (de drummer in onze band) kreeg een klap op zijn hoofd, viel bewusteloos neer en belandde op de eerste hulp met meerdere hechtingen en een hersenschudding. <<foto van I. met hechtingen>> VENLO STEDJE VAN HAAT & RACISME Wij kunnen niet accepteren dat fascisme, homofobie en geweld de straten van onze stad terroriseren. De alarmerende opkomst van extreemrechts moet stoppen. Wij voelen deze politieke realiteit op straat. STOP FASCISME, STOP HOMOFOBIE & STOP RACISME. Het probleem is dat de fatsoensnormen in de politiek grotendeels ongeschreven zijn. Fatsoenlijke partijen houden zich eraan: als je iets onbehoorlijks zegt en daarmee geconfronteerd wordt, dan neem je verantwoordelijkheid en stap je op. Maar rechts doet dat niet. /1

I assume that "Antifa Ost" is about Lina E., Maja T., and a few others who have been accused of attacking fascists in Eastern Germany (and maybe Hungary)

Antifa Ost (Antifa East) is occasionally used to talk about the trial, but that's definitely not the name of any organization
