Amazing and heartwarming to see a packed crowd of people last week eager to grow the demography community at UofT and Canada more broadly 🫶

Huge thanks to all our guest speakers, the support of @uoftsociology.bsky.social and to my fellow co-leads @leafiaye.bsky.social and @joannapepin.bsky.social
The Toronto Population Network had its very first mini-conference at Hart House last Thursday, and it was such an amazing event!! Thanks everyone for coming & can't wait for what's next 💙

P.S. trying to get the "confidence intervals overlapping" photo pose trending. it clearly has potential, eh?

My baseball pitch: home team announcers do the national broadcast in the postseason. Away team market get their local announcers. National broadcast switches as teams travel. ⚾

Sportsnet broadcasters said they expect the #Mariners game to start around 7:30 EDT. How am I going to root for the Ms and the Jays at the same time? 🫤

Big demographic data release date at StatCan, some thoughts as I make my way through it.
First up, Total Fertility Rates. TFR in Canada declined further, with some slight variation across provinces. BC is still the province with the lowest TFR.

🚨 Are young women becoming more left-wing & young men more right-wing?
We analyzed 32 European countries (1990–2023).
