Knicks up 20-plus in Toronto on the second night of a back to back, without Mitch and Deuce. 4:46 left.

Brunson and KAT with only 19 combined points so far.

Win of year. Another dominant 3Q defensively.

OG and Mikal finishing at the rim were huge.

Knicks trailed by 10 in the 3Q. Take a 12-point lead into the fourth.

Candidate for win of the season if they hag on here.

Nearly everyone who has played has contributed in a meaningful way.

Kudos to KAT. Hasn’t got many touches. Just hustled for an offensive rebound and threw a nasty, behind-the-head pass in the air.

This turned quickley.

Short-handed Knicks are up three in Toronto. OG has been ridiculous.

Maybe the defense really has turned a corner for this group.

(Also, I think the Raptors would be the best first-round matchup for New York. Their offense/shot profile plays into New York’s strengths.)
January 29, 2026 at 2:20 AM
Knicks defense and Josh Hart in transition have allowed New York to stay around.
January 29, 2026 at 2:10 AM
END OF 1: Raptors 28, Knicks 18.

Turnovers still haunting New York.

Legit thought Jalen Brunson was the only one to bring a real intensity/focus defensively in the first 12 minutes.

Raptors’ ballhandling, cutting and spacing is giving New York problems.

Josh Hart is second on the Knicks in “wide open” 3-point percentage.

Just hit a wide open one to get the Knicks on the scoreboard.
January 29, 2026 at 12:57 AM
More Knicks turnovers, Raptors lead 7-0.
January 29, 2026 at 12:46 AM
Miles McBride is also OUT and Josh Hart is questionable
KNICKS’ Mitchell Robinson is OUT for tonight’s game against the Raptors.

Surely it’s awkward for everyone involved, but the fact is that the Knicks have had their best moments lately with KAT - who continues to say the right things publicly - sitting.

My column on the suits’ ticking clock to figure out if things will change: www.nytimes.com/athletic/700...
The Knicks’ best ball lately has been with Karl-Anthony Towns on the bench
The Knicks were struggling with the Kings. Then Towns sat for the final seven minutes and they won by 16.

Not really sure how to categorize this victory. This wasn't a 16-point game but the Knicks got down to business when it mattered most.

Big one tomorrow against the Raptors, who have won four straight and haven't played since Sunday -- when they beat the Thunder.

Knicks have closed with Brunson-McBride-Bridges-Anunoby-Robinson to pull away in this one.
January 28, 2026 at 2:52 AM
And just like that it's a 14-point game. A dominant two minutes here for New York. The previous 44 minutes were very uninspiring but wins are wins.
January 28, 2026 at 2:49 AM
Knicks offense is hitting enough 3s here down the stretch.

Kings won't be able to keep up just hitting 2s.

Knicks up 10 after another Brunson bucket.

3:07 left.
January 28, 2026 at 2:43 AM
KAT finally gets a shot to fall here in the fourth, turns to the crowd and tries to get it hype.

Knicks up 6 with 8:29 left.

Kings are shooting 16 percent from 3.

The Kings are shooting 17.4 percent from 3 and trail by just one

Knicks up 4 with 4:10 left in the 3Q thanks to Russ jumpers.
January 28, 2026 at 2:13 AM
The Knicks starters have had two shot-clock violations in five minutes to start the 3Q.
January 28, 2026 at 2:08 AM
KAT got mauled by Precious there and they didn't call it.
January 28, 2026 at 2:03 AM
I was wrong. Refs say Westbrook was moving (he was) and the KAT elbow wasn't an abnormal motion.
Wouldn't be surprised if the Kings win this challenge and KAT gets hit with an offensive foul for the elbow to Russ, and thus another Knicks turnover.

Once the Knicks stop fouling DeRozan and take care of the ball, they'll go up by 15-20.

If they don't do both of those things in the second half, they may get swept by the Kings this season.
January 28, 2026 at 1:34 AM
Knicks spent the first few months of the season as one of the best teams in the NBA at taking care of the ball. Top-3 for most of it.

Rank 15th in turnovers per game since January 1, which doesn't include the 11 turnovers in the first half tonight.
