Brown on KAT’s rebounds; “That’s what great players do. They impact the games in many different ways.”

Mike Brown: “Our guys were good tonight. That’s four of our last five opponents we’ve held under 100 points.”
January 31, 2026 at 3:21 AM
Barring an all-time collapse, the Knicks will win five straight in a game that was never really in jeopardy.

Another good defensive performance to add to the latest ones.

Brunson’s night ends with 26, Anunoby’s 24, Hart’s with 29, and Towns with 14 and 20

Kudos to Kolek and Diawara tonight. Five combined 3s between them in a 19-point game.

Huge even with the score looking uneven.

New York is back to doing good things on both sides to start the second half
January 31, 2026 at 2:04 AM
Knicks take a 10-point lead into the half. Led by as many as 25 or something.

At this point, it doesn’t matter whose fault it is but New York won’t get to where it wants to go without KAT being a factor offensively. Too many games lately with virtually no real impact.
Not as professional of a second quarter. C-minus.

Notes:

Offense got stagnant
Sloppy
Defense was a step slow
Good, professional quarter by the Knicks to open this one. Lead 37-22 over Portland

A-plus, no notes.

Brunson is cooking. Up to 12 after he's fouled shooting a 3.

Also, he gets fouled shooting a 3 once a game and I'm sure his ankle doesn't appreciate it.

Knicks defense has been good in this quarter -- the Blazers have also done dumb stuff. But the defense continues to be engaged for New York.
January 31, 2026 at 12:56 AM
Mo Diawara is in instead of Yabusele.
January 31, 2026 at 12:55 AM
Knicks are swarming the Blazers in the paint
January 31, 2026 at 12:47 AM
Josh Hart has been upgraded to probable tonight against the Blazers. McBride (left ankle management) is doubtful.

Knicks up 20-plus in Toronto on the second night of a back to back, without Mitch and Deuce. 4:46 left.

Brunson and KAT with only 19 combined points so far.

Win of year. Another dominant 3Q defensively.

OG and Mikal finishing at the rim were huge.
January 29, 2026 at 2:42 AM
Knicks trailed by 10 in the 3Q. Take a 12-point lead into the fourth.

Candidate for win of the season if they hag on here.

Nearly everyone who has played has contributed in a meaningful way.

Kudos to KAT. Hasn’t got many touches. Just hustled for an offensive rebound and threw a nasty, behind-the-head pass in the air.

This turned quickley.
January 29, 2026 at 2:22 AM
Short-handed Knicks are up three in Toronto. OG has been ridiculous.

Maybe the defense really has turned a corner for this group.

(Also, I think the Raptors would be the best first-round matchup for New York. Their offense/shot profile plays into New York’s strengths.)
January 29, 2026 at 2:20 AM
Knicks defense and Josh Hart in transition have allowed New York to stay around.
January 29, 2026 at 2:10 AM
END OF 1: Raptors 28, Knicks 18.

Turnovers still haunting New York.

Legit thought Jalen Brunson was the only one to bring a real intensity/focus defensively in the first 12 minutes.

Raptors’ ballhandling, cutting and spacing is giving New York problems.
January 29, 2026 at 1:15 AM
Josh Hart is second on the Knicks in “wide open” 3-point percentage.

Just hit a wide open one to get the Knicks on the scoreboard.
January 29, 2026 at 12:57 AM
More Knicks turnovers, Raptors lead 7-0.
January 29, 2026 at 12:46 AM
Miles McBride is also OUT and Josh Hart is questionable
KNICKS’ Mitchell Robinson is OUT for tonight’s game against the Raptors.
