At some point, I would love to see an interviewer ask someone from the Trump administration which specific portion of Article II they are relying on.
Pam Bondi: "This was well within the president's Article 2 powers. It was a law enforcement function to arrest indicted individuals in Venezuela."

MILLER: The US is using its military to secure our interests unapologetically in our hemisphere. We're a superpower. It's absurd we'd allow a nation in our backyard to become a supplier of resources to our adversaries

The American people can see for themselves how dishonest & cynical this is.

Drug trafficking warrants the use of military force to topple a foreign government in one instance, and then merits Trump pardoning the former Honduran President, lawfully convicted of the same crime?
RUBIO: Maduro was indicted. Nobody ever did anything about it.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hernandez was convicted by a jury

RUBIO: The pardon authority is something I'm not involved in

STEPHANOPOULOS: Do you support it?

RUBIO: I wasn't involved in those deliberations. I haven't looked at the case file.

“No room at the Inn” is a biblical reference about immigrants (Jesus’ parents) being turned away. Not the government. Way to go, Hilton! The 3rd Amendment protects private entities from having to house the government.

"The stock story was the US managed a successful decapitation of the Iraqi state but made little plans for how to stabilize it afterward. We have a vaguely parallel situation in Venezuela, only the US hasn’t even overthrown the regime. It’s difficult to overstate how absurd this state of affairs is"

OK? But apparently you do get to avoid justice for drug trafficking in the US if you’re a foreign head of state with ties to Trump’s inner circle..."

The tactical abilities of US special operations forces are impressive, but we already knew that and it's beside the point here.

The most tactically brilliant military action means nothing, or can be actively detrimental, when undertaken on behalf of bad strategy. As is the case with US-Venezuela.
CNN: The leadership of the House Armed Services Committee is set to be briefed tonight by Trump administration officials. What questions do you have?

GOP REP. CARLOS GIMENEZ: The questions I would have is how brilliantly they carried out the operation

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

Like, even if it doesn’t get done, how are you not planting this flag in the ground immediately?

"Cognitively irresponsible" leaders do not want to explain themselves. They don't want to answer questions. They just want you to accept "because I said so" and have that be the end of the discussion. This is an autocrat. This is not a president.
Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

The cynics think today's attack on Venezuela is staged and transactional. Maduro is allied with Putin, but in 2019 Putin offered Trump a swap: Russia cedes Venezuela and gets Ukraine. (See Fiona Hill's testimony in Trump's first impeachment trial, h/t @davetroy.com). Even Maduro may be in on it. 2/
