Re-upping for #RemembranceDay
#OTD 1867, Marie Curie was born.
During WWI, Curie created a vehicle that contained a hospital bed, a generator, an X-ray machine and photographic darkroom equipment. These “petite Curies" (below) could be driven right up to the Front. Curie also helped train 150 women as radiology technicians.

I find the comparison between Mamdani and Khan very annoying. One Isa champagne socialist whose transit policy is a mess and who hasn’t done enough to crack down on property crime. The other seems to have an exciting comprehensive policy plan. I really see very little in common

The SNAP thing makes sense to me when I think about the phone calls I got working on the hill. The majority were probably people complaining of benefits fraud. Usually these calls were from the same people over and over again.

Alongside the British war dead, especially my own family members, this Remembrance Sunday I shall remember all American liberators but especially these African-American liberators.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

A new exhibit at the New Haven Museum offers a fresh perspective on the Amistad revolt of 1839. Joanna Steinberg of the museum says the exhibit is connected to America's 250th and is an "unfinished revolution," one of the themes from AASLH's Field Guide for the Semiquincentennial.

Does anyone on here work with race and medicine in the southern US in the early 20th century?
Niche, I know, but I came across something very weird in my late father's stuff that might be of interest.
Feel free to share.

Most of my supervisors mentors and key allies in the workplace have been women. I’d say they made it better maybe nasty little men need to treat them with more respect
