Why does Google think that if I didn’t want Gemini in my workspace that I’ll want MORE Gemini in NotebookLM Plus??

Ezra Klein’s podcast today gave me a new phrase: we’re in an attention oligopoly. Where the currency of power isn’t money, it’s attention.

Makes me even more concerned with where and how I spend my attention these days.

I do not want Google to even offer to summarize my emails. I turned off Gemini in the admin console…. anyone find a valid working suggestion to make it go away in mail and docs???

The bots have now come for BlueSky….

Blocked more fake accounts today than in the past two months.

I was at McKinsey when something similar happened. Anyone else remember Ranjit’s laptop?

Of course, within a day, some analyst put together a deck about the wasted money by analyzing the response rate and response time. It was glorious.

All I really want right now is a week to just rewatch procedural shows with a quippy lead: 911 Lonestar, The Rookie. Maybe go back and finish White Collar or Burn Notice. Missing “blue skies” TV.

I can add lists and feeds without following people here, which is awesome. So follows are for friends, and politics and sports get their own space that’s not my primary feed. How joyful!

There's always three costs of a product or course
