I will never not love the serendipitous nature of browsing library stacks. The book I was looking wasn't here. But ALL of these that I wasn't looking for were. Bonus, books just smell good. I love ebooks, but brick & mortar libraries are still the best.

I really do love it when people assume I don't know how to do my job. I've been a higher ed professional for 20 years. This isn't my first, or even 10th rodeo. When I ask for past spending data to draft a budget, I don't need a lecture on how zero based budgets work.

Friendly reminder: the pain is a feature, not a bug. The senseless cuts, the fear, the confusion is intentional. The 3 ring circus of astounding stupidity, however, is a neat bonus. Whee! Can't wait for WW3.

Hey, #edusky... I know the world is burning right now, but can we put our heads together and figure out how to make our higher ed infrastructure a little more student friendly? I'm looking at you, central admin. It shouldn't take a phone call and 3 degrees to figure out a hold on my acct.

Neat article in Higher Ed Policy talking about how authoritarian regimes in Africa manipulated higher education to maintain control. I'm sure there are no possible parallels we could draw that would apply to the US. Its not like WE are authoritarian, right?

I have gleefully eaten my way through NOLA at NASPA. I can tell I'm getting old bc I haven't been tempted to drink...until tonight. The cafe down the street has $1.50 PBR. We're going to pretend, for at least an hour, that it's 2002, which was my first NOLA conference.

I didn't think Zuck could be any further up Trump's backside, but every time I open Facebook I get pro Trump, pro Musk "suggested" videos and posts. It's like they're TRYING to lose more users than they already have. Jesus wept.

There are a lot of folks that have the "we'll be ok if we just comply" mentality, borne out of the mistaken idea that if we survived last time, we'll survive this time. But we DIDN'T all survive last time. And telling us to sit down and be quiet is going to get us killed.

This prgrm let food banks buy fresh produce from local farmers, offering a cheaper and faster source for FRESH fruits and veggies (+ supports local ag). We can get canned food easily, but anything fresh is usually donation, which is unreliable. What a waste.

Fair question Friday: what do you do when you recognize you're burnt tf out? I know I'm there. I want to go spend a week in the woods by myself, but can't. I want to flip tables and set things on fire. Also can't. So, short of dissolving into a pile of ragey goo, what bright ideas do you have?

Can I get some economics big brains to weigh in? I know corrections happen, but this doesn't feel like a normal correction. It doesn't even feel like 2008. This feels different. IDK if that's just the anxiety talking or if pattern recognition is freaking out appropriately. What can we expect here?

Big "let them eat cake" energy.
If you want to eat the most expensive eggs you’ve ever had in your life, you should have backyard chickens.

Don’t get me wrong, I love them and have raised them, but they are an expensive hobby.
