🫠 tbh I think the crux of it is an unwillingness to put the same level of work in as others (and you can sense the toxicity). My girl Ellen is putting in a shift every weekend and can strike up a vibey partnership on any panel!! She had a rapport w Jonas ffs! That’s the level that’s the vibes

Genuinely she so rarely does the coverage? And when she does it’s only lionesses friendlies basically. Literally cannot recall her showing up as a pundit for a wsl game

Oh definitely — and I think there’s an element of blaming her waning punditry career on external things rather than looking inward at what she can do to be better as more recent retirees (White, Asante, Beattie among the best for my money) have quickly settled into it and become more favoured

She went off about the Ian Wright thing on a podcast, then when that didn’t go well for her, followed up with Instagram posts further attacking him. Also suggested he and Nedum Onuoha should never have got the Euro final job over her and they’re bad allies for taking work in the women’s game.

It also feels like she started by pretending it was on behalf of Fara Williams or the broader concept of female players generally, but she’s since given up the guise that it’s about anything other than her own work opportunities specifically and her own interests.
