One of the problems with all this investment into AI is that all that money is not being invested in anything useful. It's just going into a bubble with only marginal increases of actual utility, while creating a myriad of issues for everyone else, like electricity cost and water table depletion

They promise us "through automation, you will be more productive, with less work." Ok, so pay us more while reducing our hours to reflect that. Otherwise, I can think of no better positions to be automated at big corporations than the entire executive board.

We can either spend some money and move away from carbon-intensive industry, or we can spend a whole lot more dealing with climate change's results like more floods, fires, and other extreme weather, not to mention all the additional deaths
