one thing that keeps your pages fast is developing on a not so fast computer. my M1 mac mini with 16GB of RAM sometimes struggles with your landing page, and it should definitely not. please don't let that happen.

This is interesting — a recent study of mode share (the % share of transportation trips by car, transit, walking, biking etc) relative to city size and income levels in almost 800 cities in 61 countries. Interesting results. HT @davidzipper.bsky.social

p5 2.0 will launch soon and will include a way to write shaders with the JS you're used to rather than having to learn GLSL! Luke, who wrote the feature, is making a tutorial where you can make this without writing a line of GLSL:

also my laptop's battery goes down faster using nextjs and chrome than it does using zen (firefox)

it also consumes more battery usong nextjs in firefox, much less though

i have no data to show and i refuse to elaborate
