Season's Grebe-ings from Maryland Bird Conservation Partnership! Here’s to a wonderful holiday season filled with the joy of #birds, laughter of friends, and magic of nature.

We couldn’t resist the pun - especially since the Pied-billed Grebe is Maryland’s only nesting grebe species!

Highly recommended read!

I’m biased since Roxie has always been a hero of mine. But I’ve got to say this book makes you a bigger Roxie fan no matter what you know of her. And whether you’re a #bird lover or not too. She was such an incredible person that overcame so much and accomplished so much.

Happy holidays from Jordan, Eider, and Gabriel!

Wishing you all the best this winter, especially peace, health, and love.

G: I don’t know where my phone is.
I don’t know where the remote is.
All I know is where my margarita is.

J: is there a problem or am I missing something?

“I’m so glad I’m not on Twitter or x or even Bluesky whatever anymore. Except @evornithology.bsky.social. I miss that dude. He was good. Always chill or good and whatever. Def funny. Ya miss him.”

Uh…facts - 🤔🤷‍♀️💯

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

You are ABSOLUTELY NOT going to regret listening to this bird:
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

Oh hey there Ross! You’re looking extra cute today. No need to be shy and try to hide behind some veg. Congrats on claiming bronze for your species as our third ever county record! It means a lot that you stopped at a farm pond right down the road, and even more that G & I found you.

Happy World Migratory Bird Day from this pair of bird nerds! 🪶 We’re out doing a big sit to celebrate and wonder at the true phenomenon of fall migration. So far the most notable species we’ve had are ~100 Tree Swallows & 4 Common Mergansers. We hope you get out there & enjoy too. Birds are amazing!

Now taking suggestions for gift ideas (no food items) for the kitten & their fur-mom that have everything. 🐈

I mean everythinggg. Things I didn’t even know were a thing… 😳

I’m a lifelong dog gal, and know you can never have enough of their fav toys. 🤷‍♀️

But what are fav cat toys (not just junk)? 🤔
