Stand up for folks, and they’ll stand with you.
Make no mistake: if Trump, Miller, Noem, and Homan could just put the Klan on retainer, they would.
Exclusive: ICE officials plan to spend $100 million to recruit gun-rights supporters and military enthusiasts through online influencers and a geo-targeted ad campaign, part of what the agency called a “wartime recruitment” strategy to hire thousands of officers, according to an internal document.

I’m really enjoying “The Copenhagen Test” on Peacock. Simu Liu is a better Jack Ryan than basically any Jack Ryan, there’s serious Broadway royalty (Brian D’Arcy James and Kathleen Chalfant), Saul Rubinek is Saul Rubineking like crazy, Melissa Barrera is killing the covert op role…

Developers & leasing companies have every incentive to provide the right amount of parking to meet market demand, and car-free residents shouldn’t have to pay for spaces they won’t use.

Parking mandates come with a heavy cost in dollars, labor and lost opportunities for the land that lots take up.
Parking spaces can cost developers up to $50,000 each. Dropping the mandate to have them at all opens the door to cheaper housing and walkable neighborhoods.

Lessons from Denver where decisions to eliminate parking minimums follow similar moves in other cities: buff.ly/CONT05v
Denver study shows removing parking requirements results in more affordable housing being built
Structured parking can cost as much as $50,000 per space, making housing more expensive to build and for those living there.

I talked to a congressional candidate who thinks the real risk is that failing an attempted impeachment will somehow give approval for the charged conduct. My own view is that targeting Bondi, Hegseth, Bove, or Vought could force resignations and restore confidence in impeachment as a vital tool.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or Alice in Chains.

And if you’re keeping score at home, @joshuaerlich.bsky.social, @nationalsecuritylaw.org and I are still suing them.
While DOGE has been largely forgotten, it isn't gone. Anna Bower and others have reported it continues to exist, in some form, and DOGE's social media confirms it continues to perform its destructive work.

You know how sometime you’ll be watching a movie or show and it’ll just randomly occur to you how fortunate you are to get to watch a particular actor at the height of their craft?

Anyhow, I just watched “Doctor Sleep” for the first time, and we don’t appreciate Rebecca Ferguson nearly enough.

Both the most and least charitable observation about Vance is that he isn’t acting like this out of principle, because he literally has none.
J. D. Vance has “clearly made the calculation that anti-Semites are part of the Republican Party’s base, and he can’t afford to shunt them to the side as he plots his own presidential bid,” Franklin Foer argues.
J. D. Vance Fails a Simple Moral Test
The vice president welcomes anti-Semites into the Republican coalition.

We need to come to terms with the idea that the Executive Branch—including DOD and DOJ—are going to have to be purged of leadership that stuck around during this administration. We’re going to lose a lot of operational knowledge and experience, but that’s the price of restoring a modicum of trust.

Can I hold a grudge? Well, I still haven’t forgiven Jake “The Snake” Roberts for ruining Miss Elizabeth’s wedding reception at Summer Slam, when I was eight. And I don’t even like pro wrestling.

The absolute eagerness with which some senior military figures are sacrificing their integrity to defend Trump’s crimes bodes very, very poorly for us all.

Suffice it to say, click it if you want, but it’s probably the stupidest rationalization you’ll read today.

“Bovino” is Italian for “Bull (Connor)”
A large CBP presence is back in Chicago this morning, with sightings and arrests reported across the southwest side and Cicero. Bovino is also here.

What was the last time Trump apologized for anything? Was it the hostage video he made after the Access Hollywood tape story broke? I honestly don’t recall any from his first term, or post-January 6, or after his many indictments, or after the racist Bund rally he held.

He’s 7. This rules.

"ICE and CBP must be abolished" is the only reasonable position. We can debate the specifics of new agencies for immigration functions, but these agencies are simply too infected with a culture of impunity, racism, and fascism to continue. They're gangs with badges.
Armed ICE agents trapped US citizens in a restaurant and demanded their papers. Federal agents walked into East African restaurants in Cedar-Riverside, MN. They closed and blocked the doors. Then they demanded to see everyone’s papers. Every person present was a US citizen.

When gutter racists like Musk talk about “Western Civilization,” it’s always (a) racially based instead of philosophically or ideologically, and (b) too weak to win a battle of ideas on its own merits.

What they call “Western Civilization” is just plain old dumb white supremacy, which they love.
The richest man on the planet has a pinned tweet that's just straight up white nationalism. I can't say I miss Twitter!
