Ideally this will be 80% me discussing pro cycling with likeminded morons but there should be some other random stuff too.
If I revert to Swedish I'm likely irate about some local issue that may or may not be relevant if you live in Kansas or Kuala Lumpur.
Happyface for sad-face Sweeck.
That was a great race !

Toon Aerts hit Thibeau with the kind of final km acceleration that papa Nys used to be the expert of.

First a divorce from Astana and now Israel-yada-yada, maybe PremierTech should try and work with some team that isn't a pseudo-nationalist program?
They seem like a brand determined to make a mark in cycling, maybe they should try one of the nice normal teams? There's still a bunch of them around.

Anyway, yet another reminder that "debate me bros" were always full of shit, and anyone who claims that they were actually about free speech or real discussion over ideas is lying or gullible.

The “Debate Me Bro” Grift: How Trolls Weaponized The Marketplace Of Ideas
Among the attempts to create hagiographic eulogies of Charlie Kirk, I’ve seen more than a few people suggest that Kirk should be respected for being willing to talk to “those who disagree with him”…

This is why I don't think Hushovd will have much success. If it read "dreams of superteam with the next 🇩🇰 Vingegaard and next 🇩🇰 Pedersen" (or even Vingegaard & the next Pedersen)I would get it but building teams around riders in the autumn of their careers never works. It's oldtimey thinking.

My current plan is that someone else comes here and cleans up the chaotic mess in my tool shed and I stay on the sofa and read my book.

I haven't quite figured out the finer details of the "someone else" part but otherwise it's a really solid plan.

It's time to make that tough annual decision whether or not to commit to watching cyclocross over the winter.
Is Mathieu going to show up and ruin the thing this winter or not?

The real winner in terms of viewership figures would probably be the racedirector who sat down and studied racefinales from the last 10 years to figure out the precise formula for stages that are balanced so that they *can* end in a big sprint but there are chances for breaks & late attacks to work.

Has he seen Pogacar before? What on earth about this course would cause the death blow to come any later if the power balance is the same next year?

We have reached the negative-charisma section of the Tour de France presentation. The profoundly grey Amaury dude blandly reading his manuscript of corporate platitudes before the enthusistic and dull local mayors take the stage. Great opportunity to go get coffee before the fun starts.

@matildaprice.bsky.social Great piece on ketones but there might be a bit of a freudian slip in there

"it was possibly even counterproductive in the fight against anti-doping"

Now I personally think it might be the fight the UCI are having but it might not be what you intended to say. :-)

Having heard Hushovd talking about it on a Danish podcast I'd be shocked if the "Scandis Only" policy survives more than a season or two in the WT. At least if he's in charge.

It's understandable because it is an incredibly challenging restriction but dropping it would also be a huge mistake IMHO.
For the first time since 2013, a Scandinavian team will be in the highest tier of the sport.

After 🇩🇰 Saxo Bank, now 🇳🇴 Uno-X will join the World Tour after a 13 year hiatus, even with only Scandinavian riders this time.
