"Our compassion doesn't have borders or boundaries. We just love kids".

I wrote this simple truth from compassionate human Ms. Rachel on the chalkboard in my front hall.
"I think it should be controversial to NOT say anything" about Gaza

I spoke to YouTube star and children's educator Ms. Rachel about her outspoken support for Palestinian kids in Gaza - and the bad-faith attacks on her in response.

Regardless of how one feels about the Catholic Church or about Pope Francis, now is a time to come together to claim that JD Vance killed him

THIS. I woke up this morning and while saddened by news of the Pope's passing, I was already sipping my tea imagining the power struggles and intrigue taking place at that very moment lol

As a #boymom, books about poop are always among the most requested at storytime. Thanks to Poo-Dunnit by @katelynaronson.bsky.social my 3-yr-old can identify bear poop with more consistency than he can count to 10 😂

Imagine being this viciously cruel about a court of law telling an entire group of women that they aren't who they KNOW they are. They don't count. #SheWhoShallBeNotBeNamed
You all need to treat Harry Potter IP like we’re treating the Tesla brand.

One of our most requested stories from the latest batch of library books in 'One Day This Tree Will Fall' by @lesliebarnardbooth.bsky.social. Beautifully written book that keeps ME engaged for multiple readings and inspires great follow-up questions from the Littles.

With 3 kids, 2 naptimes and 2 separate bedtimes, I've gotten the number of picture books I get to read just while momming up to at least 8. #ParentingWin #KidLit

My kids and I just discovered the "Creepy Carrots" book. I delivered one hell of a horror reading, complete with laboured raspy carrot breathing. My 6 year old is terrified and won't even look at the cover again. My 3 year old is obsessed and demands daily readings. I love kids.

The webinars on #12x12 are so inspiring and I learn so much from every single one. But then I find myself going back through every story draft and trashing them in my head based on all the new info and perspective. Anyone else have this problem?

I'm pursuing 2 careers at the same time - family photography and kit lit and one inspires the other all the time. When I capture photos of families it sparks story ideas and when I'm writing it gives me inspiration for photo shoots.
TOPIC: April showers . . . etc. etc. What non-career-related hobbies/pursuits/obsessions make your creativity flower? How does what you admire or find fascinating leave its mark on your writing or art? #kidlitchat

I did it! I would write, did write in a wrap. I would write did write with toddler in my lap. I would write, did write late at night. I would write, did write while breaking up fights. I somehow made the chaos fun. This writing mom got it DONE! #storystorm #kidlit

Sometimes being a writing parent feels like the plot of Cinderella. You're allowed to go to the ball/fulfill your creative passion IF you finish all your chores. But ppl keep piling stuff on and you're basically set up to fail from the beginning #writingmom #amwriting

I will now attempt to perform the most dangerous magic trick of all! I will transform 2 snow- suited petulant devil children into swim-suited cooperative kids who are ON TIME for their swimming lessons! Odds of failure are high. Pray for me. #Momlife

I've become so desensitized to all of the late night noises randomly emitted by my kids toys - beeping, booping, muffled singing - that when one of them does become sentient and try to kill me, I'm going to be a really easy target #momlife #writingmom

Today's writing soundtrack is a cacophony of domesticity - a cooing baby, the crunch of his sensory mat, the rattling of the fox toy he's trying to shove in his mouth, the dejected kettle boiling on repeat... and the dishwasher churning because I forgot to run it last night. #amwriting #writingmom

They're just blatantly admitting they don't care about facts at all and they're not interested in online safety. It's gross. Not surprisingly but still...

My phrase for the year is 'Be Kind to Yourself' because my therapist insisted (kidding, kidding... kind of...) and because I have 3 kids 5 and under, a husband who works long hours in the TV industry and an ADHD brain. And yet I continuously set unrealistic expectations for myself.
TOPIC: Resolutions time! What are your shiny new career goals for 2025 (the ones under your control)? Do you have a theme word for the year? How do you plan to hold yourself accountable? #kidlitchat

Today's writing soundtrack is brought to you by a Spotify playlist of a dozen different versions of Old MacDonald, which seems to be the one thing keeping my 4 month old from fussing. Tried throwing some Wheels on the Bus in there, but he was not having it... #AmWriting #WritingMom

What are all the parents out there doing while trying to write today? I'm just over here letting my 5 year old eat raisins and chocolate chips from a bowl on the floor, while he instructs me to call him 'Rainbow Flower Kitty' #writingmama

Sexiest words your husband can say when it's your night to cook dinner - "should we just order pizza?" 😍😘🤤
March 28, 2024 at 8:26 PM
I've given up trying to force my 4 and 2 year old to have dinner convos and started reading to them instead. They stop shrieking and making fart sounds and I get to read more picture books. I don't so much get to EAT, but it's still worth it 🤪

Hey parents and fans of decent television - what are some recent(ish) kids shows that don't make you want to knock yourself unconscious? *aside from Bluey because obviously Bluey. Always and forever Bluey! #KidsTV
