Forget the spin.

The new tax shelter voucher scheme in the MAGA Congress would force vouchers into states that don’t want them—funding private schools’ choice of kids to admit, not school choice for families.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Sooooo….In May, Trump administration announced it will stop paying out $1B in federal grants that US school districts have been using to hire mental health professionals, including counselors and social workers.

Total Disconnect! Shameful.

Reminder to Hoosier families:

Indiana’s relentless attack on PreK, K-12, and higher education is a GOP choice.

There are other states prioritizing kids!

Kids. First. Always.

As Indiana continues to reduce funding for traditional public schools, struggle to fund 4 different systems of (schools’) choice, discuss voluntary public district consolidation, and start forced consolidation, 5 more charters are seeking approval to open.
Bad policy!

Unbelievable.

The GOP confirmed a Sec of Education who refers to AI as A1 (steak sauce).

The GOP confirmed and defends a Sec of Defense who sends US classified, sensitive detailed military plans to his family and a journalist using non-secure channels.

We deserve better.

For those of us who continue to champion for strong public education, it is great to hear a governor prioritize public education.

Thank you, @govandybeshear.bsky.social.
Public education will always be a priority for me. There is no "final mission" when it comes to Kentucky's kids and their right to a bright future.

Trump-Musk GOP Playbook (Project 2025):

Gut VA➡️ Public Outcry on poor quality➡️ Privatize VA

Gut Public Education ➡️ Public Outcry on poor quality➡️ Privatize Education

Gut Medicare ➡️ Public Outcry on poor quality➡️ Privatize Medicare

Gut ….

This isn’t going to end well.

The VA is critical to meeting the needs of Veterans, their families, & caregivers. Sure-there is plenty of room for discussion on improving the efficiency & effectiveness of VA services. But-the Trump/Musk approach of cutting add’l 80K VA employees is dangerous & reckless.
Veterans deserve better!

The SAVE ACT is trying to silence voters w/ new voting requirements:1)birth certificate & 2) state/fed photo ID w/ MATCHING names.

Millions of voters have changed names since birth (marriage/otherwise)resulting in mismatch b/w the new requirements. Bill has NO answer for these voters.

Meanwhile, IN Republicans are busy at the statehouse banning the wearing of masks!

INDIANAPOLIS — The bill makes it illegal to wear a mask in any gathering of 10 people or more where the general public is allowed to gather.

Church? Banking? Grocery shopping? Voting?
Indiana bill would make wearing masks at public assemblies a misdemeanor
Under SB 286, anyone who wears a mask at a public assembly could be charged with a Class C misdemeanor.

Some are saying, already, Vance didn’t really mean this. That he worded things cleverly to make the meaning ambiguous.

Sometimes, it seems, we make ourselves feel better by assuming the best of these people.

Tell me how that’s worked out so far.
