Gov. Andy Beshear announced that eligible Kentuckians should see SNAP benefits loaded on their cards as soon as today. Thanks to the quick work of Team Kentucky, the commonwealth was one of the first states to process full benefits.

Great news, Kentucky – we’ve finally received the go-ahead to fully fund SNAP benefits for Kentuckians who rely on this assistance. Once again, our team will work through the night tonight, with the hope our families can see those benefits hit cards tomorrow. 1/2

Kentucky, we need drivers traveling around the Paducah area to avoid westbound I-24, which is completely closed and will be for an estimated 6 hours due to a major semi accident. Eastbound I-24 is also moving slowly. Please plan ahead and use alternative routes.1/2

Today we said goodbye to one of Kentucky's greatest leaders: former Gov. Martha Layne Collins. She transformed our state for the better and helped create a pathway for our families to live better lives. Her legacy will never be forgotten. On behalf of the commonwealth: thank you, Gov. Collins.

Great news, Kentucky. We’ve been notified that the @USDA will fully fund SNAP benefits for the month of November. These funds help feed Kentucky families who need it most, and they should never have been delayed.

It's impossible to describe the devastation from yesterday's deadly plane crash. My heart is broken. My prayers are with all those affected, and I promise we will be there in the hours, days and weeks ahead. We will get through this together. We love you, Louisville.

The tough news continues today as the death toll in Louisville has now risen to at least 11, and I expect it to be 12 by end of the day. Even harder news is that we believe one of those lost was a young child. 1/2

The news out of Louisville is tough tonight as the death toll has now reached at least 7, with that number expected to rise. First responders are onsite and working hard to extinguish the fire and continue the investigation. 1/3

Gov. Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff in Collins’ honor until sunset on the day of interment. Arrangements for the former Governor have not yet been announced.

The number of licensed mental health providers in Kentucky has doubled since 2019. Health care is a basic human right - and mental health is just as important as physical health. And I'm proud we have more professionals ready to help those in need.
