Seeing animals traumatised by war is 💔 like this little furry fella 🐈 his name is Syrnyk - Cheesecake - and he is so traumatised by Russian drones and missiles is afraid to get out of his hiding, even when there is no attack 💔

It’s going to be a good day when you’ve had the pleasure of discovering two great photographers in one post. Don’t let this interview slip past you if you are a lover of process.

What a pleasure to come across Niall McDiarmid’s photographs this morning. His work is serene and compelling and his attention to colour, whether dramatic or softly pared down, draws us into his subject’s quiet beauty.

Woo-wee! Paul Chambers is a stand out photographer with a beautifully crafted account. Don’t venture in without a beverage and a comfy seat as this is a bit of a paradise if you love analogue, B&W, portraiture or deeply empathetic work.
After an early morning exchange with the good folk @desdelboy.bsky.social and @marcdavenant.bsky.social, here’s ‘one’ image of mine from a few years back, that has stood the test of time.

This is such a wonderful portrait. It reminds us that outdoors or indoors, on location or in studio, orchestrated or spontaneous—the setting has endless potential to reveal the magic in the subject.
Tilt-shift camera portrait with a client in Tokyo from the Middle East, back in 2010.

Loved the way this camera and lens combo handled. Allowed such layered experience and freedom of expression.

“Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created.” In a word, photography has become, as only good art can, “a major force in explaining man.” ~ Edward Steichen 🧵🪡
