Are you a woman who changed your name when you got married?

Congress is considering a bill that could make it much harder for you to vote.

On this international women's day, I am reminded by the following quote by Soraya Chemaly -

In the coming years, we will hear, again, that anger is a destructive force, to be controlled. Watch carefully, because not everyone is asked to do this in equal measure. rself.

Today I was reminded that no matter how much I qualify any question, or smile when I ask it, or "control my tone," inevitably I will be "reminded" by someone that they see me as a bossy, big-mouth who should work harder to make everyone else more comfortable.

It has and will never work.

LA bound & feeling a bit overwhelmed at facing the implications of "he who must not be named" for our work & the communities we serve. I am worried for their safety & freedoms but grateful for a community of others steadfast in their commitment to equity & uplift. Time to connect & plan.

A feminized profession is not simply one in which women disproportionality work or care work is elevated - it is one that is disrespected and devalued B/C women do it & care is centered.

Start institutionally valuing ALL of what it takes to make schools thrive!
