When my body protests on a hike it's no problem for me to cut it short. I did that today on my east coast hike and am now enjoying a celebratory beverage for the hike.

I am not Catholic and barely anything that could be called religious and yet today I felt the passing of Pope Francis. I cannot claim to be current on his statements nor fully versed what appears to be positive shifts. But I can wish that he finds what he needs in the afterlife he believed in.
