I've been debating for the past week whether to go back and finish up the last few days of Advent of Code 2025. But, I haven't really been feeling it, and now December and (2025) is done. So in the spirit of a #chill #AdventOfCode, I think I'm done for now. See ya in a year, AoC!

Whelp, once again for #AdventOfCode my solution for part 2 works for the test case but is far too inefficient and crashes the kernel.

Day 9 part 1 was ridiculously easy, because you could cheat with math, so I guess it makes sense part 2 is difficult. Ah well.

Whelp, #AdventOfCode is definitely getting harder each day. For Day 8, I was only able to solve part 1 for the test case - my answer was wrong for my actual input though. I'm about ready to tear out my hair so I'm stopping for now.

Day 7 #AdventOfCode prompt is giving me the giggles:

Naturally the first thing you do upon seeing a teleportation experiment is step into the teleporter

Magic smoke

Error code 0H-N0

Christmas-tree shaped tachyon manifolds

What's coming next in part 2? Maybe a sonic screwdriver can help...

Woooo I'm back in the 2-star club! Part 2 was kinda a pain in the butt to figure out how to parse the input correctly, but I'm quite happy with my solution

I thought day 5 was seeming a bit too easy... my part 2 answer was wrong and I'm not immediately sure what to do to fix it. So, I'm going to bed, maybe I'll figure it out another day.

I learned in past years that if your input needs to be a grid, using numpy will make your life much easier. I know this is possible to solve with just base python, but why not refresh myself on some numpy basics and also save myself the headache?

Two independent studies found that AI chatbots were better at persuading voters than political ads. The most persuasive bots also lied the most. This is something that humans working in psyops have known for decades. AI is psyops at scale. www.technologyreview.com/2025/12/04/1...

Day 3 in the books! Part 1 was very easy, and part 2 was an interesting generalization, but got a bit tricky to do the list indexing properly. The test cases were definitely useful here in making sure I wrote my code correctly.

Wooooooo 2 stars for me today! Part 2 was way easier for Day 2 than Day 1... in fact I initially misread Part 1 thinking it was asking for what Part 2 ended up asking for.

Starting earlier in the evening (like well before midnight) definitely helped as well 😅

Starting this year, I'm updating my #AdventOfCode repo to use mise and uv for managing my environment.

Super minimal setup to get started after installing mise: mise.jdx.dev/getting-star...

Create the mise.toml file at project root:

[tools]
python = "3.13"
uv = "latest"

Then run: mise install
