Masked agents dragged a teacher from her classroom. They pepper-sprayed a toddler. They shot a father of two, for the crime of trying to go to work.

This is Trump’s America—and we need your help to keep exposing it.

Trump’s Immigration Nightmare: It Is Happening Here
With astonishing speed, the administration has toppled the most cherished pillars of a free society. And the experts agree: It’s all going to get much, much worse.

If the NYTimes and Washington Post knew the day *BEFORE* the attack on Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro - so did Putin. Whether directly or from that make-believe SCIF in MAL.

That Maduro and Venezuelan military were not tipped off is consistent w/this bargain discussed by Fiona Hill in 2019.
During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

U.S. military spending is set to hit a record $1 trillion.

Roughly half of defense spending goes to private contractors that routinely price-gouge the government.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon has failed EIGHT straight audits.

This is the military industrial complex on steroids.

Rep. Seth Moulton comes on CNN and starts by saying: "Is anyone going to just stop for a second and be honest? This is insane. What the hell are we doing? We've got a lot of problems in America today, and invading / occupying / running Venezuela does not solve any of them."

It’s hard to believe a president would time an illegal military attack to distract the public’s attention, but today is the statutory deadline for DOJ to release its report on the Epstein file production. Maybe it is just a coincidence.

After decades of repression, Venezuelans deserve a prompt transition to a rights-respecting democracy, led by Venezuelans, where their freedoms and right to participate in free and fair elections are respected.

Read HRW’s statement on US strikes on Venezuela:
US Strikes Venezuela, Says it Will ‘Run’ Country
On the night of January 2, the US military conducted strikes on Venezuela, and took into custody the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife, Cilia Flores.

The aging pedophile who wants to be a king has kidnapped the leader of a sovereign nation without congressional approval.

If the United States had an opposition party, they would treat this as an illegitimate act and start impeachment proceedings immediately.

Every American should be ashamed of who we are and what we have become as a nation today. We have a long history of military misadventures and even crimes but the attacks we have been conducting on Venezuela are among the most wanton, egregious and least defensible acts we’ve ever conducted.

Venezuela opposition reports the so called "capture" of Maduro was a negotiated deal between Maduro and US for an agreed exit strategy. We reported in November that this would be the case. The US bombed Venezuelan service members as part of a death theatre. #VenezuelaInvasion

you cannot blockade a country and bomb its capital cities and capture its leader without being at war with it, is the thing
Are we at war with Venezuela?!?

I don't know. You don't know either.

It sure would be nice to have a legitimate Pentagon press corps right about now.

The US is now responsible for the governance of Venezuela. Toppling the regime of a smaller country is always the easy part. The hard part is what comes after. Neo-cons always expect a pro-US nirvana. It rarely works out. But I suppose the oil companies can seize some assets.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

Maduro is a brutal and oppressive dictator of Venezuela.

Trump has no legitimate legal basis for military action against Venezuela under United States or international law.

Both of those facts are simultaneously true.

What the fuck. Trump is claiming the U.S. military captured a sitting head of state in his own country, with no extradition process & no legal authority.

No matter what you think of Maduro, that’s absolutely insane behavior—and a precedent that should alarm anyone who cares about international law.
