If you’re waking up in the North East to calm weather, no, the forecast wasn’t wrong. This is the centre of the low pressure passing. Winds will ramp up rapidly with driving rain by late morning / early afternoon - gusts 60mph+ and 70mph+ along the coast. #stormdarragh

The Met Office has now issued an AMBER warning for snow across parts of the North East and Cumbria. Latest suggestions are as much as 20-30cm of fresh snow over the highest ground, significant drifting in gale force winds.

The thing that feels nice about the shift to this app is that it feels like a fresh start, and I think everyone needs that. A gentle pause button from the outrage that algorithms keep feeding us and that are so addictive. Whether that’s possible to avoid on any platform, though, remains to be seen.
