we rly did it guys im gonna cry 🥹 my baby is out in the world now, and i feel so lucky to have gotten this opportunity. i'm deeply proud of this anthology; it's everything i could've ever hoped it would be, and frankly i think the world needed a book like this! queer joy! queer men being dudes!!
Our new anthology DUDES ROCK, edited by @jelliclejay.bsky.social with assistance from @audriserat.bsky.social, is out now ❤️‍🔥✨

From buff aliens to gender-affirming werewolf bites, this anthology is about celebrating everything that queer masculinity can be, and we want you to rock with us!

In 2025, we published two short story collections, one unusually structured anthology, and ten zines! This year might be a little slower--gotta sustain energy and money--but you can still expect some wonderfully strange, grotesque, and unsettling fiction from us. Thanks for your ongoing support!

my story “you visit a witch” is out now in @kaleidotrope.bsky.social 🧙‍♀️🌱 one of the first stories i wrote, nearly 5 years ago, it’s much cozier (for lack of a better word) than most of my works, but it also still asks how we can bear to live in this world

At the end of the day, you can’t control if there’s a market to sell your story to, if it will buy your story, or if its readers will like it. The only thing you can control is whether *you* like it.
Write the stories you want to write. Because then, no matter what happens, no matter what markets are or aren’t there, you’ll at least have written the stories you want to write.

that time of year again! this is the first year where i've really felt like part of the publishing ecosystem (in my own small way), and i have a feeling that the publications i've got lined up for 2026 wouldn't be happening without the work i put in this year

So if you wanna read more stories about guys in their early twenties dealing with closeted queer desire, masculinity, grief, and ultimately coming to terms with their sexuality… might I suggest Summer Sons?

happy to publicly confirm that i never received payment or an author copy for my story “desert silver blue” which was published in their anthology KOSMOS OBSCURA (though they at least did the courtesy of letting me know that the exclusivity period is now waived)
Alert: I've gotten several reports of non-payment by Graveside Press, from authors w/ stories in one or more anthologies. Also failing to provide author copies, & failing to respond to emails & messages. Anyone w/ similar experiences, pls contact me (Writer Beware) in confidence: beware@sfwa.org

there are more serious problems with generative ai but the one that upsets me on the most visceral level is it being used to create cute animal contentslop. destroying THEIR environment and using their innocent likenesses and they don't even KNOW it makes me nauseous

I am usually in the camp of 'all reading is good' but in some very rare cases an absolute dunderhead will pick up a book and be like "the hobbits are a direct endorsement of fascist racial supremacy" and I don't think it's really helping them or anyone else, like maybe reading actually isn't for you
