It’s my birthday, so to celebrate I’m diving in to the internals of how Jupyter works. 😁

This is a dive into the architecture and future of one of programming’s most popular tools.

My amazing wife will be completing this 10k in support of cancer research. She has gotten to the far side of most of the medical treatment like the amazing warrior she is. Please support these efforts.
I am going into spring with medical treatment largely behind me 🤞 - and with a growing mohawk.

I'm looking forward to some exciting work projects, and I'll share more on that soon.

B4 that, I'm doing 10K on 18 May to fundraise for Cancer Research. Please contribute!

I was just told that I have to remove “climate” from the title of an ongoing grant if I want to keep it. And publications from that grant cannot include “climate” and other forbidden words. I can’t believe I’m writing this from the United States of America. #AcademicSky
Just received an email saying that it's not advisable to include the following words in future applications for research funding to the US DOT. Here we are.

This is good news for the environment. To make progress we need to distinguish between the consumerist economy and the reuse/repair economy. The former needs to shrink while the latter grows if we want to both preserve nature and our material wealth.
