Rhode Island CRMC votes 6-0 to deny Quidnessett Country Club's application to reclassify the waters along its shoreline. If approved, the agency would have considered new rules that **could** have allowed the country club to retroactively get permission for a rock wall built the shore.

Looking forward to CRMC (hopefully 🤞🏻) upholding the recommendation of their subcommittee and finally denying the country club’s request to change the rules after the fact. Their illegal wall has now been in place for over 500 days…hopefully this gets us closer to removal. 👍🏻

There are a lot of ways to improve recycling in the state, but a ‘bottle bill’ is the only policy that does that AND reduces litter from beverage containers, which are, as a category, the most-collected item during shoreline cleanups. Let’s get this done #RIBottleBill

Another strike against Quidnessett Country Club: CRMC subcommittee voted to deny the request to downgrade water classification along its shoreline. Recommendation goes to full council at a later date for full vote. Meanwhile, illegal seawall still stands...More TK

If there's one thing Rhode Island loves to do, it's pass unfunded mandates: pass a law, make a policy and don't give anyone any money to make it happen. Spent a couple months reading through the general laws to find these, here's what I found:
