Fully agree. It feels like a very old-style approach (by both sides), even if its about new technologies.

I wrote a short summary of where are we with the anti-malaria vaccinations. By the end of 2024, the number of African countries conducting or initiating universal malaria vaccination will approach 20. While manufacturing goes better (with R21), financing might get tricky.

1 day after Sudan's army reclaimed Sennar state's capital, Sinja (on Nov 23, see video), ending the deadly RSF occupation, displaced in Gadaref begun registering for a return. Enthusiasm is unmistakable. A million IDPs from Sennar might soon return. Probably the most optimistic moment of this war...

Critics had good arguments to call those local truces "surrender". Still, they offered respite and some normalcy for civilians, priceless channels of communication, trust-building exercise and at least some hope for rebuilding social fabric. Most of that has been lost with the 3 juntas approach...
