Good morning! This is your reminder to support your local library! Get your card and see what resources you have access to from programs and events to seed libraries, maker spaces and digital resources. Libraries are more than *just* books. (Although books are very lovely!)

How exactly does a teacher work from home for the teacher workday scheduled the first day back from break?
I left all my work at school before break, and my teacher-friends aren’t next door for me to bounce ideas off of!

We could have had this instead.

What do warmongers and cheesemongers, scaremongers and fishmongers, have in common? A product and a profit to be made. (The origin of “monger” is the Latin “mango,” meaning “dealer or trader.”)

Come on all you peacemongers and truthmongers, you poetrymongers and lightmongers and lovemongers…

98 books in 2024. The goal was 24, so I blew it out of the water! My 2025 goal is 25 books—I know I’ll read more than that, but it takes the pressure off once I hit the goal.

If this year taught us anything, it's that:

1) Workers keep America going, not billionaires.
2) Corporate profits don't trickle down to workers.
3) Poverty is a policy choice.
4) Health care is a human right.
5) Strikes work.

I hope we act on these lessons in the new year.

It’s NYE & raining here. I wrote this poem in 2013, so the five-year-old is now sixteen.

Even when it’s hard to love the world unconditionally, and it’s never not hard, here’s to imagining what might be possible and what we can make so.

Love from here on a rainy Tuesday.

“An awesome guy stuck in the body of somebody who’s always running late,” from A REAL PAIN, has to be one of my favorite pieces of dialogue of the year.
