How can you sit there and say something this evil? NIH isn't a company though and it never meant to be. NASA is also not a company and without it we wouldn't have gotten to the more. The government is there is focus resources for doing things company can't or won't do due to them being unprofitable.

NIH was never intended to a be a company. That's the point. By not having to meet profit targets, NIH can focus on basic research that the private sector won't do because the payoff is uncertain or years away.
