This album reminds me of coming home for winter break my freshman year of college. We drove around listening to it the entire time I was home. I still love The Memory Remains and Unforgiven II

The two purple NFL teams will square off this weekend for just the 8th time. And we will see a NEW uniform color combination that has yet to be worn on the football field - the 6th unique color combo in 8 MIN/BAL games:

When the teams met in January 1995 the Black Bears were #1 in the country. It was the first time Maine traveled to Amherst. The result was a split series
The first-ever hockey game between Maine and UMass was January 1979. It just so happened to be the last season both programs participated in Division II hockey. The next time the two would see one another would be in Division I in 1995. The teams begin a series tonight.

Sir Paul McCartney put on a great show last night in Minneapolis. I have to say, a 2.5 hour set for an 83-year old is impressive 🎸

The last St. Thomas men’s hockey home game until the Tommies open the new on campus arena
📍 Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul, MN

St. Thomas is hosting North Dakota in back end of home-and-home.
▪️First series between these programs.
▪️Last non-conference game between the two.

I was at this game in 2013 (as I took this photo then.) I remember a Gophers player had a breakaway at the end of OT and you could tell that place was on the verge of exploding as he was driving to the net.
Throwback to 2013 when the Gophers men last hosted Boston College. The Oct. 25, 2013 game was officially a 3-3 tie but the Eagles won the shootout 2-1. It was the first regular season shootout the Gophers participated in. The two teams begin a two-game series tonight at Mariucci.

That’s got to be the most painful loss to the Falcons in the history of the Minnesota Vikings franchise

The Seattle Kraken introduced a black alt. While I’m usually against a navy team introducing an alternate black uniform, I really like this

This was a special one for me to write because my Grandpa was a senior on this 1945-46 Minneapolis Central High School hockey team🥹
In 1945, Minneapolis Central High School announced varsity hockey would return for the first time in 5 years due to the war. Little did they know that this team included 2 future collegiate hall of famers who would both be inducted into multiple halls of fame. Link to follow⬇️

I was NOT a fan of the Braves as a kid because of the 1991 World Series but I had this exact card up on the bulletin board in my room for years
Tom Glavine signed with the Atlanta Braves 41 years ago. He was a two sport star as he was selected 69th overall in the NHL Draft by the LA Kings just 18 days before. And a month before that in May 1984 he had committed to UMass Lowell to play both hockey and baseball.

Team USA is looking to win gold at the #MensWorlds for the first time since 1933. The U.S. team in the 1933 tournament was represented by the Massachusetts Rangers amateur team. There were 10 players on the roster for the gold medal-winning team and 9 were college hockey alums.

People were speculating new sweaters for St. Thomas after the teaser from the school yesterday (myself included). As of today, no new sweaters announced but for what it’s worth, I don’t think St. Thomas needs new sweaters. Their uniforms are sharp. Maybe an alternate but that’s it in my opinion
The first games to be played at the new Lee & Penny Anderson Arena will be the St. Thomas men’s and women’s hockey teams facing off against Providence Oct. 24. These will be the first hockey games ever played between St. Thomas and Providence.

Random Thoughts: wondering if Union hockey will introduce new sweaters that will include the current logo? It would coincide with the opening of a new arena so it makes sense to start anew
