Shameless NUFC gossip mongerer
That’ll teach me 🥴
If my predictions came true we'd be in League One by now, so take with a huge pinch of salt..! I'm oddly optimistic for a resounding 3-0 win. Every time I am so optimistic, we lose though. So "3-0 but also no idea" 😵‍💫

Can’t be too disheartened by this game. Had some good chances, but the drop off in chance taking from 24/25 Isak to Wissa and Woltemade is stark. City are obviously brilliant and despite poor form can just turn up and do this can’t they 🤷🏻‍♂️

Had to win this game by 2+ to get through the tie IMO. That early Wissa miss might have been crucial 😩

Yesterday I was going to post about Botman’s demise perhaps being prematurely declared. Does he just need time to get back to speed, like VVD after that Pickford-inflicted ACL? Or is it a case of one injury and aggravation too many? 😔

The really petty football fan in me is thinking about Calvert-Lewin’s slow, smirky substitution, and picturing his face at the end. 👨🏻‍🍳💋

Leeds deserve that, they’ve been brilliant. Feel for Thiaw.

Far from a moan given we’re 2-0 up, but we’ve released the ball a second too late so, so many times in this match. Which seems odd given we’re such a direct side.

Miley has been absolutely brilliant today. Can’t wait to see him in midfield again soon.

As ever, I’m glad to be wrong. That was a tough watch in the second half until the third. Got to hope this run of home fixtures can help remedy some of our ills 🤞🏻
We have let a weird amount of 2-0 leads slip recently, tbf.

NUFC going 2 nil up is like the start of Casualty when some kid with braces is away to fly a kite near a pylon, you know something bad is happening, but what? I'm no Eileen Drury but you've got to question what the fuck is going on with these lads
December 30, 2025 at 8:54 PM
One thing you can’t accuse this NUFC side of is being inconsistent 😂
December 30, 2025 at 8:54 PM
I don’t think I’ve ever known of a team to be so, so bad when they go 2-0 up 😂 This is madness. Not moaning, we’re winning and all that, but on recent form we may as well be drawing already.

🤷🏻‍♂️
There are loads of good reasons why this is a bad/optimistic POV, but I'd be quite happy with DCL on a free to #NUFC 😬 Just can't shake the feeling that he'd be worth the risk given there's no fee; be happy to play #2 to Isak; knows the PL; seems a decent character; *might* clear up injury-wise..?!

I don’t buy that confidence is the key issue with NUFC at the moment. Everton away should have gone a long way to fixing that. It’s predictability.

If all us fans can predict the subs, their timing, the patterns, and the shortcomings; imagine the ease at which opposition coaches & analysts can 😂

Bugs me that this NUFC side have got so predictably poor away from home. Sent this to mates earlier and resigned myself to it without even a flicker of optimism.

Something is well off this season, and it ain’t tactics or adjusting to new personnel.

The problem with this NUFC side is that they’re shit.
December 26, 2025 at 8:41 PM
A month on there’s no improvement.
It strikes me that NUFC have a poor, or at best incredibly brittle, mentality; are inflexible to the point of being ideological in their tactics and formation; have a culture of credit, rather than merit; and are complacent about the PL points, and stars' futures, the style evolution is costing us.

Howe: "I can say off the ball, I thought we were very good."

Where to start.

I’m not angry, I’m not even disappointed. My expectations have been fully met. And to expect a dross defeat away at a newly-promoted Sunderland, even from a grouchy pessimist, isn’t a good sign. This season is kaput. Tonali, Tino, + someone else good = gone by August 2026. That’s the upshot.
Am I going mad, or is a NUFC loss on Sunday just written in stone?! Everyone seems so optimistic.

(I am horribly pessimistic at the best of times. Any time I’m optimistic, we are crap, or shoot ourselves in the foot.)

It’s my birthday Sunday too… Christ, I hope I’m wrong.
