No big deal, just a former referee confused about the VAR protocols. (‘Clear and obvious error’ doesn’t come into it with offside, and all goals are checked for offside anyway—the process he described is completely at odds with reality.)

I’d rather Van Dijk’s goal stood, but it wasn’t a clear and obvious error to deny him | Chris Foy
While it was a highly subjective call, VAR is not there to re-referee decisions like the offside against Andy Robertson

Leave it to the HHS boys to depathologized HRT in order to pathologize menopause. “HRT has saved marriages, rescued women from depression, prevented children from going without a mother,” Dr. Makary said.
No, menopause does not kill women or cause divorce.

Some people at work made this version of my profile pic for a work thing, but I will say the semi-recognizable Standard Edition cracks me up, as does the repetition of volumes 7 and 10. I love the Three Essays, but would probably repeat other volumes first

Every time there’s an iOS uodate (either the full number or one decimal), my phone loses its mind trying to figure out whether to apply “work” or “personal” focus on my wfh days.
Either way, I lose quick access to all the stuff I actually use on my phone 🤦♂️

The PGMOL is unfit for purpose for all teams, and Liverpool are refereed completely unlike any other top club.
That said, this ain’t it. We are not playing *anywhere* near well enough to be complaining about specific calls after a game has ended. Focus.

A good way to rid one's self of a sense of discomfort is to do something. That uneasy, dissatisfied feeling is actual force vibrating out of order; it may be turned to practical account by giving proper expression to its creative character.

Democrats, coming off a historic national protest against fascism and a country-wide electoral sweep:
Like, when I was union president sometimes I’d allow a vote on something I thought was a bad idea.
When I knew for a fact it would get voted down. Not when it would pass, but I could celebrate myself for voting against it and advertise my lack of influence. WTF kind of floor management is this?!

He doesn’t need to “worry.” You “worry” about things that might/might not happen.
This scenario is just facts.
