I guess hand roll bars are the fun new thing here, but I don't know why you'd want to go anywhere other than Grand Central Market.

(unless you are bad at choosing between wonderful things you may want to eat - then definitely don't go there)

After 13 years of being married, one of our favorite habits is still sunday morning waffles (blueberry bran, of course). Lots has changed over the years, but small things like this bring me a lot of joy.

This doesn't feel real but I'd really like it to be.

I signed up to @lataco.bsky.social this week and am thrilled to report that in addition to a strong local news team, they also have a food newsletter on Fridays. I'm very happy.

I’m no great fan of the ACA.

I believe we should guarantee health care as a human right through a single-payer Medicare for All system.

But — at minimum — we cannot allow Republicans to destroy our already-broken system by doubling insurance premiums for 20 million Americans.

- Democrats must make the Hard Choices to support candidates who can win, even if they have some Republican positions
- OK but what about this Mamdani fellow who is winning without Republican positions
- No! We must make the Hard Choices!!
The failure of the “blue no matter who” crowd to rally behind Mamdani really just lays the reality of that position bare, doesn’t it?

Our 13 mo old cat is 12 lbs and our 5 mo old is 8 lbs. the thing is, neither of them are at all big. They’re just going to be huge cats.

Tidal has basically the same library, pays artists more, has high quality audio, and detailed production credits — you can even search by producers, instrumentalists, and so on if you're into that kind of thing. I've been using it for years. Zero complaints.
I know every corporation has its thorns and there's no ethical consumption under capitalism etc: but just dump Spotify. do it now.

Apple Music is great, I've heard Tidal is solid, Deezer, whatever. you can transfer your playlists. it'll be ok. they can rot.
Spotify customer service is immediately ending conversations if you ask about them airing ICE advertisements on the platform.

Cancel your Spotify subscription.

Microsoft shoved their AI Copilot into everything in Windows 11. Which lead to an increase in Windows 10 use. So they announced they'd stop support for Windows 10, but its usage was still strong. So they started to put Copilot into Windows 10.

Windows 7 use is surging 5x now.

AI is product poison.

Over 14,000 physicians currently practicing in the United States, concentrated in underserved Midwestern+Southern states, are currently working on H-1B visas.

This is the high-skill visa program, lifeblood for critical sectors, that the US Administration is sledgehammering.
