Part of "decolonising" charity work is understanding that "aid" can't stand on its own. There must be sovereignty of resource and land that is achieved for the folks who have had their worlds destroyed, and this must be worked towards alongside a charity format structured around community, mutual

I've completely burnt out. I was so afraid to say it before, but the way things are in my life and in society has pushed me to the end of my energies. I can't even get through a paragraph of writing, barely even one line some days, before I lose the ability to think and it just dissappears.

I think what's so interesting about the differences in butterfly and moth cocoons is the way they are formed and why - essentially, if moths as a group are older than butterflies, and butterflies evolved from them seemingly to feed on different kinds of nectar and flowers

All of this queering ecology malarkey seems a little performative...perhaps that's the point? Perhaps the performance is a process...but then does that process provide soil for regenerative movements to emerge? Does it unearth the toxicities present in colonial ecology?

I need to get a van with "queering ecologies" with a big cross through "queer" and a circle around "ing" to highlight the action of "dismantling queerness", and not a static understanding of colonising queerness...then I can travel around doing my research and talks and workshops and seeing bugs...

Thing is, the Internet made a lot of places, ideas and communities accessible to those who society and governments have sidelined, and to those who have had a lot of mainstream living made completely inaccessible and difficult to be a part of.

Reimagining our relationships and interactions is important alongside mutual aid and alongside redistribution of wealth and resources. The biggest obstacles that western hemispheric colonialism places before groups - in tandem with systemic strangling of wealth - is the limitation of mindset.

What a load of rubbish about mamdani and sharia law I'm seeing online. Let's get this straight- "sharia law" is not a linear thing anyway, literally every SINGLE muslim country that even uses it DISAGREES or DIFFERS on most of what it actually is, and doesn't use ALL of it (whatever that means) and

I keep thinking I should learn how to use social media properly to get followers for work, etc. but I think my stubborn want of long form rambles and inability to comply with short and shiny pieces is one of the FEW things I'm finding joy in myself in these days

Been writing a LOT (in private) about growing up with no future planned and living day by day, and how it keeps you from dreaming beyond your tomorrow, and how being trans, racialised and muslim is soaked in this in western colonial society...the future often is not spread before us magnificently bc
