At first glance, these fuzzy, flittering insects look quite cute, but the edges of it's wings isn't the only dark thing about this master of mimicry...

It was brilliant to get out over the weekend to take part in the #GreatUKWaterBlitz for the Earthwatch Institute to monitor nitrate & phosphate levels in our freshwater habitats.

Joining in with citizen science projects is SO important. Looking forward to doing it all again in September 🌍

There's a solution to climate-induced wildfires:

Make Britain Wet Again.

Re-wet peat bogs, block up drainage channels, let trees regenerate to shade out fire-prone gorse, let fire-proof deciduous trees grow in place of flammable non-native conifers.

A goal for this year is to get outside every single day, in whatever form, for whatever reason and whatever the weather. Just outside.

Today's sunny exploration led us to a giant redwood standing loud & proud in a local park. I don't think I've seen so many birds in one tree before 🌲☀️🐦
