There's so much value in being able to fix your own stuff. I hand sew just okay, but I know a bit about mending and was able to mend a hole (because cat) in the front of a shirt so I could keep wearing it. It looks good!

My favorite thing in the world is when my little cat chooses to curl up next to me and sleep. He has other places in the house he likes to nap, so when he chooses me I feel like I must be a being worthy of his trust.

Today I learned, courtesy of Charles Dickens: rotting shrimp and lobster can grow bioluminescent bacteria and thus, in a dark cellar, may faintly glow in the dark.
I also learned that once heard as the narrator of A Christmas Carol, Gonzo can never be unheard.

I don't want to give the game away about my own fic until the author reveals, but I think my recipient really enjoyed their fic, too. Every time I write for #Yuletide I remember what a joy it is to create a lovingly tailored story for someone who shares my tiny fandoms.
