another day another dollar in the vacation rental business. New record for the maximum number of glasses broken in one week… 9 flutes, 9 wine glasses. And a proper dose of hot-tub soup, despite the chemicals. Vom around the loo/floor, red wine stains on the oak tables, and ciggie butts outside 🤯😭🤬

@yukinosaru.bsky.social how did that proton mail migration go? Am doing the dropbox > proton drive later today… still can’t quite face ripping off the email plaster (or more accurately, the whole g-suite, where my digital life has lived for decade or more)

I guess it really is time to make the dropbox > proton drive great migration happen. I know it’s not *that* hard, but I have procrastinated. Todays job.

Well stumping up €500 for Paul Simon in Paris was just a bit too toppy for me. So am delighted to get tickets for Tinarwiren for one less zero… and it’s at the Cirque d’Hiver which looks like a fab venue. whoop! 🎪🎸🪘🇩🇿🇲🇱

A week ago I re-contracted my ISP, same supplier, new deal. It should be uninterrupted - same livebox etc. But tonight there is no service. I guess it could be the storm, it could the change in contract, or it could be a livebox fault 😬🤷♀️. No fault showing on the line diagnostic. Call out time 🤯.

Went up mountain, had bacon butties for brunch. Cracking blue skies up above the inversion clouds that are making it cold and grey in the valley. second pic is inside the télécabine as we descend. Back to a movie on the tellybox with the Chonk and the husband. #lowkey #stressfree

The Last Frontier on appletv is a fun old fest of car/plane action, not so much a whodunnit but a whats-been-done. Best of all though are the opening credits set to a reworking of Classical Gas.

On a different tack, am watching Hunters on Netflix. It’s kinda ridiculous, but raises such interesting, serious, questions. I would love to read/watch a deeper treatment of Operation Paperclip.

I just asked an AI about some practicalities of end of life care. Am struck by how well it provided clear information without flimflam, with good contextual caveats. And it included advice for me as the question asker. There’s a use case I’d not imagined.

At Soton airport headed home to the hills. Tis two months since the last visit to see my mum, and the decline is marked. Barely able to walk, and her world is limited to bed/WC/chair/kitchen… she’s no longer able to sit up to do jigsaw puzzles.
